Edo castle
There was Edo castle in Tokyo. It was largest castle in Japan, and it was a lot of gates. At that north end is Ocha-no-mizu, at the south is the Tora-no-mon, the at the west end is Yotsuya, and at the east end is Tokyo (station). Tokyo has a lot of Edo castle’s remains, for example, Stone Walls, Moats, Earthen Rampart Walls, Turrets, and gates.
Now, the center of Edo castle is the Imperial Palace, the East Garden of the Imperial Palace, and Kita-no-maru Garden.
Edo castle has been on fire many times. The castle tower (Tenshu) has been rebuilt three times. There is no fourth reconstruction of the castle tower, and now only the foundation (Tenshu-dai) remains in the East Garden of the Imperial Palace. The foundation was burned by the great fire in 1863, and the stone walls were burned and rounded.
