Shimizu Park

In March 2020, I went to Shimizu Park because wanted to see plum blossoms. It is in Noda city in Chiba-ken prefecture. The nearest station is Shimizu Park station at Tōbu-noda line (Tōbu-urban-park line). The park has a temple, about 500 kinds of flowers, Field Athletics, Camp and Barbecue Area, Pony Ranch, Trout fishing, and Aqua venture(maze with fountain).

In 1894, Kikkoman (a company that manufactures soy sauce) founder’s father rented part of the temple forest, and he built an amusement park. In 1929, Dr. Seiroku Honda, an authority in agriculture and forestry, designed a large-scale natural park, and it is now expanding in scale. He was involved in the design and improvement of many parks, including Hibiya Park.

Some kinds of plum were in full bloom, the weeping cherry was in full bloom and some other flowers bloomed too. There were many cherry trees outside the park too, and they had just started to bloom.
