Ichigaya-mon gate of Edo castle

Ichigaya-mon gate was in front of JR Ichigaya station. The outer moat and bridge are still on the north side of station. At that time, the bridge was made up of an earth-paved bridge and wooden bridge. The current bridge is a concrete bridge built in 1927. It was extended to the west and became very wide.

Stone wall from the Edo period remains on the east side and it is engraved with a lot of marks on the stones. The gate does not remain but marks on the stone wall tells us that this is the remains of Edo Castle. This place is a parking area, so be careful of cars when you visit it.
