Tama Zoo (Tama Zoological Park)

I went to Tama Zoo (Tama Zoological Park) on a holiday in September ten years ago. The zoo is located in Hino City in Tōkyō, and the nearest station is the Keiō Line Tama-Dōbutsu-kōen Station.

September is still hot so I was wearing a pink T-shirt and jeans. I took a train at the nearest station to my house, and I changed to the Keiō Line at Shinjuku Station. Next, I changed at Takahata-fudō Station, but it started to rain on the way. What is more, the temperature suddenly fell so when I got the station, I felt cold. When I left my home, it was hot, so I did not take a jacket.

The zoo is famous for koalas. Of course I saw some koalas. If my memory serves me right, there were three koalas. They were usually sleeping so there was a poster that it said “We are always asleep so sorry”. But when I went there, they were just awake and eating eucalyptus leaves. I thought I was unlucky that my clothes were soaked in the heavy rain and I felt cold, but I was really lucky that I could see the koalas eating the leaves.
