Koma Shrine is located in Hidaka City, Saitama Prefecture. Koma-no Kokishi Jakko, the royal family of Koguryo(also written “Goguryeo”, from 37 B.C. to 668 A.D.), is enshrined here.
If we go to there by train, the nearest station is Koma-gawa (Koma river) Station on the JR line. It takes about 20 minutes on foot from that station. We can also use Koma Station on the Seibu line, however it takes about 50 minutes on foot from the station to the shrine. I have gone on the 50 minutes course from Koma station. It was enjoy like hiking, but the pavement is narrow, so we need to be careful for cars.
The shrine has a large parking lot, so we can also go by car.
This temple is very close to Koma Shrine. It is believed that the temple was built in 751 after the death of Jakko. There is also his grave in the temple.
